Electrical function: such as antistatic.
Generally speaking, polar substances are resistant to non-polar solvents, such as polyurethane: mineral oil (kerosene), alkane through the kind of solvent, and non-polar substances are resistant to polar solvents, polyisoprene (natural rubber), butyl rubber, ethylene propylene rubber is a non-polar substances.
